Consider Outsourcing Your Messages

By Brian Terry on Friday, January 15th, 2010

After you have gotten a flow to your messages and you know exactly where you want them to head, you may consider outsourcing them to a writer.

This will make things even more hands off for you. It’s even better if you get a writer who is well- versed in writing autoresponder copy.

There are many writers available who are willing to do this for a very reasonable fee.

Keep in mind that low prices do not always equal the best deal, and high prices do not always equal the best quality. You want to examine the person’s writing samples and give them some small work at first before you hand over the job on a long-term basis.

Some places to check for writers:

Focus On Their Emotions

By Brian Terry on Friday, October 23rd, 2009

Many people make their purchases based on their emotions. If you feel very strongly about something, the chances are that you’ll make a purchase, right?

That is why niches based on hobbies, desperate situations, and passions are so easy to make money in.

Step into your customer’s shoes to see what their emotions are, and how you can showcase your product so they feel that it will take care of their needs or fulfill their desires.

Hitting those emotional hot buttons is often what makes people purchase quickly. If you can incorporate some honest and real emotions into your emails, you’ll stand apart from the competition.

Focus On The Subject Line

By Brian Terry on Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

While all elements of the e-mail are important, you will want to focus on the subject line.

If people don’t like what they see and are not enticed to click, they simply will not open your message. On the other hand, if your headline is attention-grabbing, they can’t help but click on your message to see it. Once they’ve opened your e-mail, it’s going to be that much easier to build your relationship and make sales.

Show Your Readers Real Results or Data

By Brian Terry on Friday, August 21st, 2009

If you run a business that can offer case studies or data; you will get  the best results by sharing these things with your list members.

For example, if you are an expert at selling items on eBay, you can show real-life case studies from your sales last week. Show people how you write your copy, price your items, and got the most out of each sale.

This works across many different types of businesses. The point is that people like to see real-time results, and they are often impressed by and respond to them.

This works very well if you are eventually going to promote a product that you have used. So, as an eBay seller, you might have read some books that helped you get to the point you’re at now.

You can recommend the same books to other people, and earn commission from them if you don’t have your own product.

How To Turn A One-Time Customer Into A Lifetime Customer

By Brian Terry on Monday, August 3rd, 2009

The difference between the customers who buy from you one time and those who buy from you multiple times is oftentimes the amount of communication they receive after their initial transaction.

Even if your customer had a great experience with you, you are likely to fall to the back of their mind if they don’t hear from you for a while. If they receive follow-up emails from you, it’s an entirely different matter. You’ll be on their mind and you will likely create a lifetime customer after you consistently deliver.

I highly recommend that you implement a system of ongoing follow-up notices to your customers. If you don’t, you’ll be out of sight and out of mind. There are many other businesses out there that are vying for your customer’s attention and they’ll get the customer that you once had.

Consider The Length Of Your E-mails

By Brian Terry on Saturday, June 20th, 2009

There are some people who hate writing so much that their e-mails are only ever a paragraph or so long. There are others who are so prolific that their e-mails go on for pages.

It’s probably best to find something in between. If you are a writer who tends to go on and on, you have to remember that people are very busy.

They often don’t have time to read long e-mails. On the other hand, you’re probably not providing much value or making enough of an effort if your e-mails are too short. Find a happy medium, and your response rates will likely improve.

Split Test For The Perfect Balance

By Brian Terry on Sunday, June 14th, 2009

As your list grows, you will want to split test your messages. You might find that the way you set things up in the beginning was not the optimal way.

We all want to improve our results and split testing makes that achievable.

By tweaking a few things here and there you can increase your open rate and the desired responses your list makes. If you have a good autoresponder company, the chances are good that they will provide you with the information and tools you need to split test.

Companies like Aweber will automatically send half of your list one message and the other half a different message. They will then track the results so you can compare them and make changes
