Send Personalized E-mails

By Brian Terry on Friday, November 27th, 2009

This step might be difficult to implement depending on how large your list has grown. Still, when somebody joins your list or purchases from you it really helps to send personalized e-mail.

This shows that you are there ready to help them in any way you can. You can even hire this portion out, but the results will be well worth the effort. This will greatly cut down on unsubscribes and greatly increase your profits.

If you’re using a service like Aweber – it’s easy to do.

Create More Products!

By Brian Terry on Friday, November 20th, 2009

Many people who have a list get complacent with selling the products that they already have.

However, after you have had a list for a while the chances are good that you have a feel for what your members want. You can create both smaller and larger products that encompass these needs and wants.

Your list members will love you for providing these things, and you will generate more income as a result.

Always Do What’s Best For Your List Members

By Brian Terry on Friday, November 13th, 2009

This tip summarizes much of what has been discussed on this blog.

If you always keep in your mind that you should do what is best for your list members, you will see rewards. Your relationship with your list will grow, they will trust you, and they will respect what you have to say.

You will be their “go to expert” who they love to buy from. This, of course, will increase your profits substantially and make your list very lucrative for you. It also just feels better to do what is best for your list members rather than using them as a “cash machine”.

That’s not to say that it’s not a cool thing to be able to send out a simple e-mail and receive great profits and return!

Consider Using A Pop-Up or Pop-In

By Brian Terry on Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009

There are a lot of differing opinions on using pop-ups or pop-ins with opt-in forms.

If you have a pop-up on your webpage, a box will come onto the screen with your opt-in form when someone visits. Some of these even darken the rest of the webpage that the only thing people can really see is the opt-in form.

Keep in mind that some potential customers will find this annoying and will simply leave your page. Still, many marketers have found that it greatly increased their opt-in rates. This is something you will have to test.

Make The Signup Form Clearly Visible

By Brian Terry on Friday, October 30th, 2009

Many people who are new to list building put their opt-in form on just one tiny area their webpage and wonder why no one is signing up.

If your opt-in form is not clearly visible and without priority placement, you’re going to get very few sign-ups.

It is a much better idea to make it very visible and “above the fold.” That means that as soon as someone lands on your webpage they should be able to see your opt-in form without having to scroll down at all.

You should also make sure that your form is large enough to read and and uses contrasting colors from the rest of your site so that people’s eyes are drawn to it. Experiment with different priority placements to determine whether the form should be on the left side, right side, or front and center.

Focus On Their Emotions

By Brian Terry on Friday, October 23rd, 2009

Many people make their purchases based on their emotions. If you feel very strongly about something, the chances are that you’ll make a purchase, right?

That is why niches based on hobbies, desperate situations, and passions are so easy to make money in.

Step into your customer’s shoes to see what their emotions are, and how you can showcase your product so they feel that it will take care of their needs or fulfill their desires.

Hitting those emotional hot buttons is often what makes people purchase quickly. If you can incorporate some honest and real emotions into your emails, you’ll stand apart from the competition.

Offer Social Proof

By Brian Terry on Tuesday, October 20th, 2009

Social proof is another amazing way to boost your sales. Nobody really likes to make the first move, in case we make the wrong one. The same can be said when people are buying an offer. They don’t want to take the risk of it being a bad buying decision.

If they see that other people have already purchased and have enjoyed the product, they will be a lot more likely to buy it themselves.

Some ways to incorporate social proof are…

  • Include actual numbers when talking about results.
  • Include case studies or before and after videos or pictures.
  • Include some testimonials and even a picture of people who have used the product you are promoting.

You don’t have to do this within the e-mail copy itself, but you want to do it in the copy that you link to. You can even give some sales figures if you think that will boost their confidence.
