5 essential WordPress SEO plug-ins

The easiest step to search engine optimizing your blog for the search engines has got to be installing these plug-ins that I’ve listed below…

You see unfortunately WordPress right out the box is by no means search engine friendly. There’s more you need to do to get to this stage.

And it’s this fact alone that gives you the biggest advantage because so few people even bother to do even the most basic of search engine optimization.

Yet when you’ve installed these plug-ins you’ll find that generating traffic to your blog just got a whole load easier.

1. All in one SEO pack

The all in one SEO pack is probably the most important of all the plug-ins you need to get installed because it helps the search engines decide what keyword phrases your blog posts should be indexed for.

2. Google XML Sitemaps

Another absolutely critical plug-in is Google XML sitemaps. This one gets Google over to your blog every time you post something new.

3. Recent Posts

I’ll get into linking later on but having this plug-in installed is another critical one because it helps each of your blogs link to each other.

You see you want the search engines to find all the pages of your blog as quickly and as easily as possible so a solid internal linking structure is extremely important. Not only this but because this plug-in lists recent posts as keyword rich text links it can also help to give your internal blog posts an extra boost in credibility.

4. Sitemap Generator

As I just mentioned internal linking is really important and one way of helping this is to have a sitemap page which catalogues all the pages of your blog in one central place.

This plug-in creates this for you all automatically.

5. SEO Smart Links

If you get stuck with installing these plug-ins here’s where you need to go.

The main thing to bare in mind when installing plug-ins is not to change the folder names that the plug-ins are provided in.

In most cases plug-ins come with full installation instructions anyway so I’m sure you won’t have any problems at all.

POST UPDATE…

Here are the results I gained after just 4 hours of having these exact same plug-ins installed on this blog…

All I did was post 2 small articles.

Side Note: There were only a couple of external links into the blog before I added these plug-ins which may or may not have influenced these results.

However these results do point strongly towards these plug-ins having a significant influence on the results you see below.
